Officer Brad Jones selected for Animal Control Officer Position

Officer Brad Jones has been selected to serve as the new Animal Control Officer for the City of West Plains. Brad has been with the Police Department for seventeen years and is currently assigned First Shift Patrol and is a member of the Departmentâs Forensic Evidence Team. Brad will remain a commissioned Officer with the Police Department as well undertake the duties of Animal Control Officer. Jones will began his new role in the near future.

Two people are in critical condition in a Springfield hospital after a two vehicle crash at the intersection of US Highway 63 and State Route CC/Gibson Avenue last night in West Plains.
Investigation of the crash showed a north bound Dodge Caravan operated by 36 year old Daniel French of West Plains made a left hand turn on a red light at the intersection and collided with a south bound Jeep Grand Cherokee causing one occupant of the Jeep to become entrapped and one occupant to be ejected from the Jeep. Their names are not being released at this time.
French was taken into custody and placed on a 24 hour hold for Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault. Formal charges are pending from the Howell County Prosecuting Attorneyâs Office.
